Mira: An Open-Source Agentic AI for Company Research

Over the past year, I have been exploring AI agents a lot. One of the projects I have been working on with my partner, Dimi Mikadze is Mira – an open-source agentic AI for company research.

In a previous post, I discussed why AI SDRs often fail to deliver and where AI can truly add value. Since then, it’s become evident that we are at the “Peak of Inflated Expectations” on the Gartner hype cycle regarding AI. Recently, the Financial Times conducted an excellent analysis of how US companies are approaching AI, highlighting that expectations are often overinflated. Executives praise AI on earnings calls, but regulatory filings show lack of clear business benefits.

In any case, our explorations with agentic AIs and SDRs led us to focus on a key challenge in the B2B sales process: identifying relevant companies and high-intent leads for outreach. This step is crucial yet time-consuming and repetitive, making it an ideal candidate for AI agents. This led us to develop Mira.

So What is Mira?

Mira is an agentic AI for company research. So, what does it mean? Simply put, you give it a company’s website, and, in under 2 minutes, it collects information about the company from multiple sources – its website, social media, Google search and then organizes the data into a complete, structured company profile. Couple of use cases it’s been used so far are: For sales teams to create targeted lead lists; Market researchers creating company profiles for market reports; Investment analysts screening startups prior to engaging; And recruiters finding companies that are hiring.

We used Mira to build our own AI SDR tool for prospecting and lead qualification. It created detailed company profiles, and then our system used this data to identify high-intent leads and personalize outreach. This workflow let us target prospects more accurately and efficiently, helping us secure several freelance projects with less effort and better results than we did it manually.
